H/V spectral ratio

This chart is present in the configurations of the Tabs named Spectral analysis and H/V Spectrum. The chart shows the curve of the average H/V spectral ratio with its confidence interval. In the configuration relating to the "H/V Spectrum" Tab it also contains the ellipticity curves, for one or more modes, of one or more models.

This chart represents the final result of the whole analysis of the recording. Its reliability is measured through the criteria suggested by the SESAME project, based on the checks carried out in the Tab named H/V Spectrum.

Reading it allows choices to be made about which windows to select during the spectral analysis stage. In fact, for the resulting H/V curve to be genuinely reliable, its confidence interval must be as narrow as possible. This can be achieved by excluding from the analysis those windows whose H/V spectral ratio differs from the average one, especially in the frequency ranges where the width of the confidence interval is considered excessive.

By placing the mouse pointer near the points close to the curves and waiting a few seconds, a small window is displayed showing the coordinates of the point.
