GeoStru.AI – TriSpace NX and GeoSection

GeoStru AI is the GeoStru suite of web applications. Two of these integrate directly with Slope: TriSpace NX and GeoSection.

TriSpace NX

TriSpace NX is a CAD and surveying package that lets you create 2D sections from real cartography and identify the zones of maximum instability to focus your analysis on.

What you can do with TriSpace NX

  • Create 2D sections from contour maps, elevation plans or drone surveys.
  • Produce 2D geological sections.
  • Identify steepest-slope zones using slope vectors or colour bands, to choose the most critical sections to analyse in Slope.

Workflow TriSpace NX → Slope

  1. In TriSpace NX draw the 2D section on the map (contour map, elevation plan or drone survey).
  2. Export the section to DXF.
  3. In Slope use Import DXF section (the GeoStru.AI group on the main tab) to load the section into the model and run the stability analysis.

Reverse workflow Slope → TriSpace NX

Slope analyses one section at a time; on a map, however, you often need several sections. To compose them:

  1. In Slope use Export to DXF to export the current drawing.
  2. Open the DXF in TriSpace NX and compose several sections into drawing layouts.

GeoSection

GeoSection is the GeoStru.AI 2D geological section editor. It lets you draw the topographic profile and the lithological contacts between layers, and export everything in the native .geosection format.

What you can do with GeoSection

  • Draw georeferenced geological sections with topographic profile and lithological layers.
  • Assign description, colour and data to individual layers.
  • Export the complete section (profile + layers) in .geosection format for direct import into Slope.

Workflow GeoSection → Slope

  1. In GeoSection draw the topographic profile and add layer contacts.
  2. Save or export the .geosection file.
  3. In Slope import the section in one of two ways:
    • Import GeoSection section button in the GeoStru.AI group on the main tab.
    • Drag & drop: drag the .geosection file directly onto the Slope window.

What gets imported: the topographic profile becomes the ground surface line; the contact lines become the layer boundaries. Slope automatically builds the stratigraphy.

How to access from Slope

Action Where
Create / compose 2D sections in TriSpace NX Main tab → GeoStru.AI group → Create / compose 2D sections
Import DXF section from TriSpace NX Main tab → GeoStru.AI group → Import DXF section
Import GeoSection section GeoStru.AI group → Import GeoSection section · or drag the .geosection file onto the window
Export to DXF for TriSpace NX Main tab → GeoStru.AI group → Export to DXF
All GeoStru.AI apps ? tab → GeoStru AI button

Tip

Use TriSpace NX to find the most critical sections (slope vectors on the steepest areas) and GeoSection to build the detailed stratigraphy: then import into Slope for the stability analysis.
