Conventions

For the correct assignment of input data, the user must follow the conventions described below.

Basin input

The points defining the basin (watershed line) must be assigned in sequence in clockwise order. Coordinates must be defined in the positive quadrant.

Hydrographic network input

The hydrographic network must be assigned by first defining a main river reach and then the tributary reaches.

Reach input

Each river reach must be entered from top to bottom (basin outlet). The same criterion applies to tributary reaches: from the highest elevation point to the lowest.

Section input

Verification sections must be entered in sequence, starting from the basin outlet section and proceeding towards the top of the basin.

For each section entered, the program automatically assigns a portion of the basin (sub-basin) draining to that section. This portion can be modified by the user after all sections have been entered, as follows:

  1. Select the Coordinates panel on the right side of the workspace.
  2. Choose the outlet section of the sub-basin to modify.
  3. Disable the Automatic basin generation option.
  4. Activate the Edit vertex command from the Input Data menu.
  5. Modify the point positions with the mouse or enter new coordinates numerically in the upper part of the panel.

Warning

The modification phase must be performed before running the calculation.

Section shape

To define a section, click on the plan line after activating the Section command. A new workspace will open in which the right-side panel allows you to define all section properties (shape, roughness, etc.).

Return period assignment

Return periods to be analyzed must be assigned each time a new file is created. This is done via the Input Data → General Data menu.
