Stratigrapher LT — the stratigraphic log in your browser

Besides the desktop version, Stratigrapher also exists as a lightweight web application on the Geoapp platform: it runs in the browser with nothing to install, and produces a complete stratigraphic column — including the geotechnical parameters of each layer — in a few minutes.

The template: the geotechnical log

The LT template is a geotechnical stratigraphic column: next to the lithology it reports, layer by layer, the identification and classification data obtained from laboratory tests.

  • Header — client, site, borehole no., date, ground level (m a.s.l.), operator/geologist, general description and water table depth.
  • Layer — depth and thickness, lithology with symbol and pattern, description, test number and test depth.
  • Grain size — clay, silt, sand and gravel as percentages.
  • Atterberg limits and state — natural water content W, liquid limit Wl, plastic limit Wp, plasticity index Ip, consistency index Ic.
  • Physical parameters — bulk unit weight G and dry unit weight Gd, porosity n, void ratio e, degree of saturation Sr.
  • Deformability — strain ε and compressibility modulus M.

Reference standards

The template follows the standards quoted on the product page: EN ISO 14688 (identification and classification of soil) for the layer description and EN ISO 17892 (laboratory testing of soil) for the geotechnical parameters. The grain-size limits used in the columns are: clay < 0.002 mm; silt 0.002–0.05 mm; sand 0.05–2 mm; gravel > 2 mm.

What you can do

  • add, reorder and delete layers, with an instant preview of the drawn column;
  • set the water table level, shown on the drawing at the given depth;
  • print the column or export it to PDF;
  • export to DXF/AutoCAD to reuse it in the working drawing;
  • save the job and reopen it later, or export it as JSON.

Differences from Stratigrapher desktop

LT works on a fixed template: it has no Template editor with *.stl files, no well columns, no piezometers, no sample boxes, no custom vector patterns and no web templates. It is meant for quick jobs and occasional use: the desktop version remains the full tool for graphic output and template customisation.

Access

You sign in with your GeoStru account (the same one used on Geoapp). A demo mode with a limited number of runs is available: the counter is at the top of the toolbar.
